There are two types of common excavators driven by internal combustion engines and electric drives. The electric excavator is mainly used in plateau hypoxia and underground mines and other flammable and explosive places.

According to the size, excavators can be divided into large excavators, medium excavators and small excavators

According to different walking methods, excavators can be divided into Crawler Mining Excavator and wheeled excavators.

According to the different transmission methods, excavators can be divided into Large Hydraulic Excavator for Mining and mechanical excavators. Mechanical excavators are mainly used in some large mines.

Divided according to use, excavators can be divided into different categories such as general excavators, mining excavators, marine excavators, special excavators, etc.

Divided by bucket, excavators can be further divided into forward shovel, back shovel, drag shovel and grab shovel. The front shovel excavator is mostly used to dig materials above the ground, and the back shovel is mostly used to dig materials below the ground.

Large Hydraulic Excavator for Mining

Large Hydraulic Excavator for Mining

1. Backhoe type is the most common we have ever seen. It can be used for excavation below the stop working surface. The basic operation methods are ditch end excavation, ditch side excavation, linear excavation, curve excavation, excavation at a certain angle, ultra-deep trench excavation and trench slope excavation.

2. Forward shovel

Shovel action form of a shovel. Its characteristics are "forward and upward, forced cutting." The front shovel has a large digging force and can excavate the soil above the stopping surface. It is suitable for excavating dry foundation pits with a height of more than 2m, but up and down slopes must be provided. The bucket of the front shovel is larger than the bucket of the equivalent backhoe excavator. It can dig a water content of not more than 27%.

Up to three types of soil, and cooperate with dump trucks to complete the entire excavation and transportation operation. It can also excavate large dry foundation pits and mounds. The excavation method of the front shovel is based on the difference between the excavation route and the relative position of the transport vehicle. There are two methods for digging and unloading: forward digging, lateral unloading; forward digging, reverse Unloading soil.

3. Dragline Excavator

Dragline shovel is also called cable shovel. Its digging characteristics are: "backward and downward, cutting by weight." It should be used for excavation of Class I and II soil below the stop surface. When working, the inertia force is used to throw the bucket out, digging is relatively far, the digging radius and digging depth are large but not as flexible and accurate as of the backhoe. Especially suitable for excavating large and deep foundation pits or underwater digging.

4.Scraper shovel

Grab shovel is also called grapple shovel. Its digging characteristics are: "straight up and down, cut the soil by weight." It is suitable for excavating class I and II soil below the top surface, and it is often used for excavating foundation pits and sinkholes in soft soil areas. It is especially suitable for digging deep and narrow foundation pits, dredging old channels and dredging sludge in water, or for loading loose materials such as crushed stones and slag. Excavation methods include trench side excavation and positioning excavation. If the grab bucket is made into a bar shape, it can also be used for loading ore blocks, wood chips, wood, etc. at the wood yard.
