Fuel tank trucks often transport some flammable and explosive oil products and are also a kind of dangerous goods transport vehicles. Therefore, newly purchased oil tank trucks need to apply for a dangerous goods transport permit. Tank trucks should be equipped with running status recording devices and necessary communication tools, namely GPS. In addition, it is necessary to install the corresponding heat insulation, static electricity, cut off the power supply and other devices.

1. Precautions for controlling combustibles

① It is necessary to prevent oil spilling from the oil storage container of the tank truck. The oil spills, spills, drips, leaks, and spills that occur during the loading and unloading operations of oil tankers shall be promptly removed and handled.

② It is strictly forbidden to pour oil dirt, oil sludge, waste oil, etc. into the sewer after unloading the cargo from the tanker, and should be collected and placed in the designated place for proper disposal.

③ All flammable materials shall be removed near buildings such as oil tanks, warehouses, pump rooms, oil distribution rooms, and oil blending workshops.

④ Oil-stained cotton yarn, oil rags, oil gloves, oil paper, etc. used in the maintenance and maintenance of oil tank trucks should be placed in covered iron drums outside the workshop and removed in time.

2. Precautions for cutting off the fire source

① It is strictly forbidden to bring matches, lighters, or other types of fire into the oil depot, oil storage area, and oil product receiving and dispatching area. Strictly control the flow of fire sources and open flame operations.

② Pyrotechnics are strictly prohibited in the oil depot. When open flames must be used for repair operations, they must be reported to the relevant authorities for review and approval, and safety precautions have been taken before the fire can start.

③Before cars and tractors enter the warehouse, they must wear a fire shield at the outlet of the exhaust pipe and immediately turn off the engine after parking. It is strictly forbidden to inspect and repair the vehicle in the warehouse, and it is not allowed to start the engine during operation.

④ When railway locomotives are put into storage, isolation vehicles should be mounted, the ash box baffle should be closed, and furnaces should not be cleaned in the storage area or stay in non-operation areas.

⑤ The tanker said at the dock that the use of open flames is strictly prohibited. It is prohibited to carry fire sources on board.

3. Prevent electric sparks from causing combustion and explosion

① All kinds of electrical equipment used in oil depots and all working places must be explosion-proof, and the installation must meet the safety requirements. The wires must not be broken, exposed or short-circuited.

② Over the oil depot, it is strictly forbidden to cross over high-voltage wires. The distance between the oil storage area and the barreled light oil warehouse and the wire must be more than 1.5 times the length of the electric pole.

③ The rails leading to the oil depot must be installed with insulating partitions before the entrance to prevent the external power supply from flowing into the oil depot from the rails and sparking.
